Release Notes: Snippet target bindings, DataSpec badges, and lifecycle fixes · September 28, 2026
Bind snippets to target entities and attach Data Specifications. Features interactive entity pills, DataSpec badges, and lifecycle rule fixes.
New Features
- Snippet Target Entity Binding: Bind Snippets and Engagement Snippets directly to target entities (such as quotes, project plan items, or accounts) within an engagement.
- Data Specification Attachments on Snippets: Attach Data Specifications directly to Snippets and Engagement Snippets to define dynamic data schemas and pre-render target expressions.
- Interactive Target Entity Pills & DataSpec Badges: Snippet cards display interactive target entity pills with semantic icons and deep-link navigation, alongside DataSpec badges showing attached specifications.
- Snippet Configuration Dialog: Click the Configure button (tune icon) on any snippet card to open a modal dialog for setting target bindings and attaching Data Specifications.
- Snippets Master Table Enhancements: The Snippets table in Settings features a new Data Specification column and an improved empty state with guided creation actions.
- Document Variables Deduplication: Template tags in the Document Variables panel deduplicate cleanly while preserving first-appearance template order and preferring unpiped expressions.
- Related Object Updates UI & Dialog: Lifecycle status editors include a dedicated Related Object Updates field and modal dialog to visually configure declarative ancestor or referenced document mutations with formula or literal value modes.
- Flexible Lifecycle Automation Matching: Lifecycle automation rules support camelCase and snake_case field properties (
trigger_field/triggerField), normalize single equals (=) operators, and match prerequisite status filters against document IDs or paths. - Target-Bound Snippets & Jinja Target Filter: Use
{{ snippets['Snippet Name'] | target(target_id) }}in document templates to evaluate or dynamically generate snippets bound to specific target records. - Normalized Lifecycle Automations: Automation rule condition evaluation normalizes boolean and numeric types cleanly without logging spurious warnings.
- DataSpec-Driven Pre-Rendering: Snippets with an associated Data Specification automatically pre-render Jinja expressions at generation time for target entities.
- Related & Ancestor Record Lifecycle Updates: Lifecycle status transitions can declaratively update related or ancestor documents.
- Decoupled Quote Discount Visibility: Quote table discount columns, line-item fields, and mobile summary chips depend strictly on your organization’s active Quoting Features settings.
- Table Column Selection & Drag-to-Fill: Select multi-cell ranges across quote line items and project plan task grids.
- Excel-Style Fill Handle: Active cells display a corner fill handle with a crosshair cursor.
- Double-Click Auto-Fill Down: Double-clicking the fill handle automatically propagates values down to the end of the current section.
- Header Column Selection: Clicking any editable header column selects all editable cells in that column.
- Multi-Selection HUD Bar: A floating selection bar displays the selected cell count and column name.
- Task & Section Protections: Summary parent tasks lock calculated fields from multi-selection or drag-to-fill.
- Default Quoting Features Enabled: All quoting features are enabled by default for organizations when unconfigured.
Fixes & Improvements
- Monitored Fields Deduplication: Setting initial statuses extracts monitored fields across both camelCase and snake_case automation triggers without duplicate entries.
- Keyboard Table Traversal: Pressing Enter on multi-cell selections or editable cells commits batch updates smoothly.
- Settings Form Stability: Implemented real-time guards on organization settings.
- Lifecycle Rule Value Preservation: Saving lifecycle rules in templates preserves non-string and falsy trigger values without miscasting.
